THe George martel collection

The club became heir to the collection of George Martel, one of its founding members. Club members sorted and classified more than 15,000 pounds of material from various localities in Quebec and New England. Initially a private auction for club members was held, followed later by a public auction. Remaining smaller items have been used for the silent auction, fish pond material or free mineral sample cards for children at our annual Show.
